
Sarah Halpern MS CCC SLP
Sarah specializes in early speech and language development, language acquisition, social skills and has vast experience with autistic children and adults. Sarah provides play based treatment in children’s natural environments (including in-home, daycares or preschools) while implementing functional therapy techniques that involve family members and/or school/daycare staff in the process to improve carryover and generalization of skills. She is passionate about working closely with young children, teens and their families in order to reach their goals. Sarah believes in establishing a trusting and fun relationship with her clients in order to increase learning. She also knows that each child learns differently and she makes it a point to tailor each session to the individual child.
Background
Sarah is an experienced speech and language pathologist licensed in the state of California and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Sarah earned her Bachelor’s degree at the UC Santa Barbara and a Master’s of Science in Communicative Disorders from California State University Northridge. She has been working in early intervention and the special education school setting for over 15 years. Sarah has experience working with clients that range from toddlers to adults. She is both Hanen and Prompt trained and has taken numerous Social Thinking trainings throughout her career. She was recently acknowledged as employee of distinction at the school at which she is currently working.
